Public Community Reference Panel

Your opportunity to contribute to the development of veterinary policy and resources, and support the College's mandate in serving the public interest.

Member of the Public (not a veterinarian or employed by a veterinarian)

The College invites applications from members of the non-veterinary public to fill 10 positions on its Public Community Reference Panel (PCRP). This is an opportunity to share your knowledge and contribute to the regulation of the veterinary profession in Ontario.

As a member of the PCRP, you will be asked to provide advice on emerging policy matters; offer feedback on policy implementation; share input on public communication strategies; and identify emerging trends related to animals, animal care and the public perspective.

Council appreciates contributions from the panel members. Members of the first panel indicated they valued this experience and saw it is a worthwhile opportunity to contribute their perspective and also learn from their peers and the College. The College strives to engage with the public in its work to serve the public interest.

Membership to the panel will be selected to ensure representation is broad and diverse.

To be eligible to serve on the panel, you:

  • understand the role of the College
  • are not a veterinarian or employed by a veterinarian
  • are available to attend meetings

The panel will meet at least three times annually, one of which will be a meeting with Council.

A per diem will be provided and meeting expenses will be covered.
