The Evolving Scope of Practice of Veterinary Medicine in Ontario

The College of Veterinarians of Ontario and the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians are jointly consulting on a proposed new scope of practice model for the veterinary profession in Ontario.

After a two-year period of research, deliberation and focused consultation, the proposed model seeks to modernize the Veterinarians Act, strengthen the protection of animal health care, and recognize the profession as a system of providers.

This consultation phase is focused only on scope of practice and will be open from April 10, 2017 to May 12, 2017. We encourage you to read all of the material before completing the survey.  This consultation is important. Talk with your colleagues.Talk with your team. We welcome your feedback; it will be used to refine the final proposed scope of practice model. Please note that your response will be anonymous.
