The consultation on the regulatory concepts, proposed by the Transition Council, is now open!

The Veterinary Professionals Act ushers in a new era of regulation. The proposed regulatory concepts are intended to reflect evolving practice by empowering team-based veterinary care and improving accountability while ensuring quality to protect the public. The Transition Council is seeking your input on proposed regulatory concepts to support the new legislation. Concepts cover the following key topics:

  • licensure
  • authorized activities
  • regulatory exemptions for non-members
  • quality team-based care
  • administration


Your participation in the consultation will contribute to regulations that reflect evolving practice, empower team-based veterinary care, and improve accountability while ensuring quality to protect the public. If you would like to review a PDF version of the consultation materials prior to completing the survey, please contact the College.

The link below will take you to the consultation survey, administered by an independent third party. The survey seeks to measure support for the proposed concepts and identify any areas of concerns and/or unaddressed risk. Your input is anonymous. The consultation will remain open until April 16, 2025.
